I'm not sure what's gotten into me, but 2017 has been my boldest year ever. I've been through so many changes and it's only April! So far I've moved into a new apartment without roommates (except Paddington of course), let go of a job that no longer brought me joy, took an advanced coding class, focused on positive relationships, started working out regularly, planned multiple vacations, tried to eat healthier, and revamped this blog.
I feel like the overarching theme of everything I've done (and plan to do) this year can be summed up by the phrase "love yourself." It's definitely easier said than done, and it takes a lot more time and focus than I expected, but I feel like it's so important to love yourself before you do anything else. It shapes the decisions you make for yourself and others, your career path, how you spend your free time, and even where you live. Whenever I'm feeling frustrated or lost now, I try do whatever it is I need to do to put myself first. Sometimes it's hard, especially since I'm a people pleaser, but ultimately, I think I'll look back at this time next year and see that I've come a REALLY long way from where I started.
