Today is my first day of attempting the Whole30 program. Honestly, I think I'm probably one of the last people on the planet to even try it, but it's because it intimidates me so much! I don't think I've ever done ANYTHING for 30 days straight... I've been reading Melissa Hartwig's book "Food Freedom Forever," and she says, if it scares you so much, that's exactly WHY you should do it. So here we go.
The hardest part for me is going to be no cheese... and tortilla chips... and popcorn. I also feel like I've been craving sugar like CRAZY recently, so I'm hoping 30 days will be all it takes to get rid of my "sugar dragon" as Melissa says.
I feel at somewhat of a disadvantage because I'm the world's pickiest eater. I went to the grocery store last night to stock up on Whole30-approved foods and after walking around Central Market for an hour, my cart was still pretty empty. I'm planning on focusing on plain foods and easy recipes (like always), and incorporating more fruit in as snacks.
I'm hoping that by posting about my intentions here, it'll keep me more accountable, so we'll see how it goes! Have you ever done the Whole30 before? Do you have any tips for picky eaters?
